Our verdict
The Bike+ is the best connected bike here and the most expensive way to ride indoors, and both halves of that sentence stay true every year. Auto-follow resistance is a genuine quality of life feature on interval classes, the rotating screen turns one corner of a room into a small studio, and the class library remains the benchmark. The bill is the bike plus a membership that never ends, inside an ecosystem that never opens. Riders who take four plus classes a week get their money's worth and say so. Everyone else should read the IC4 review twice.
What we like
- Auto-follow adjusts resistance to the class automatically on compatible workouts
- Screen rotates for floor workouts, with a larger, better sounding display than the original Bike
- GymKit and a refined calibration story for riders deep in the Apple and Peloton ecosystems
What to watch out for
- Membership is effectively required and priced separately
- Closed ecosystem: no Zwift or third party class apps on the screen
Who it is for
Committed class riders who want the full Peloton studio system and will use the membership heavily.
Auto-follow and the screen
On compatible classes the bike sets resistance to the instructor's range automatically; you can override, but most owners stop bothering. The 23.8 inch rotating display with better speakers makes floor strength and yoga off the side of the bike practical, which quietly doubles the machine's job in the house.
Ride and build
Belt drive and magnetic resistance keep the bike quiet under class audio, and the frame is stable at standing sprints for riders within the 297 lb rating. Delta style cleats are the pedal standard, so factor compatible shoes if you do not already own them.
The economics, plainly
Price the system, not the bike: hardware plus a monthly membership for as long as you want the content, with limited value in the hardware if you cancel. Owner satisfaction tracks usage almost perfectly, which is the honest summary: heavy users praise it, light users sell it. Amazon availability of Peloton hardware varies by period and seller, so verify the listing and delivery terms when you shop.
