Question 1

How does HomeGymLedger choose its picks?

Accepted Answer

Every guide starts from manufacturer specifications (motor ratings, weight capacity, steel gauge, footprint), is cross-checked against retailer documentation, and is then weighed against recurring themes in long-term owner reports. Picks are tied to a specific buyer: room size, training style, and budget tier. The full method is on our How We Evaluate page.

Question 2

Do brands pay for placement?

Accepted Answer

No. We do not accept payment for placement, sponsored rankings, or manufacturer-written reviews. Commissions never change a ranking, and a product with no affiliate program can still be a top pick.

Question 3

How do you make money?

Accepted Answer

Reader support through affiliate commissions. When you buy through a link on this site, the retailer may pay us a commission at no extra cost to you. Amazon offers the widest availability and reliable fulfillment. Our links include our Associates ID; as an Amazon Associate, HomeGymLedger earns from qualifying purchases.

Question 4

Do you physically test every product?

Accepted Answer

No, and we never claim testing we have not performed. Our assessments are research-based: manufacturer datasheets, retailer documentation, published expert reviews, and patterns in owner feedback. Every review page carries an assessment note describing the basis for its verdict.

Question 5

Why do some guides show a price tier instead of a price?

Accepted Answer

Prices on fitness equipment move constantly with sales and model revisions. We show a tier (budget, mid, premium) and direct you to the retailer for the current figure rather than printing a number that may be stale by the time you read it.

Question 6

How often are guides updated?

Accepted Answer

Every page carries an update date. We revisit guides when new models launch, a pick is discontinued, or long-term reliability reports change a recommendation. Corrections follow our corrections policy.
