Our recommendation

Same motor class, same deck family, one decision: permanence or flexibility. The TT8 is the better running machine in the abstract, with decline, rigidity, and the higher capacity. The F85 is the better household machine when the room is shared, adding a fold and a modern screen. Let the room vote first, then the runner.

Grade span and rigidity

TT8 runs -6% to 15% on a frame that cannot flex at a hinge because it has none. The F85 matches the 15% climb (decline only on select versions) and folds, which is either its genius or its compromise depending on your space.

Console generations

The F85's touchscreen model years mirror content and run apps; the TT8 keeps a workmanlike console with Bluetooth. Entertainment-first runners lean F85; mileage-first runners stop noticing consoles by week two.

Choose Sole TT8 Treadmill if…

  • You have a dedicated space and daily mileage
  • Decline training matters to your goals
  • You want the highest capacity in the line

Choose Sole F85 Treadmill if…

  • The room must sometimes be a room again
  • You want a touchscreen without leaving Sole
  • Two runners share the machine and the space

FAQ

Questions, answered straight

Is the F85 deck the same feel as the TT8?

Both use Sole's Cushion Flex approach and owners describe them in the same terms. The TT8's fixed frame removes the last hint of movement at very high mileage efforts.
