Best Overall

Body-Solid SBL460P4 Freeweight Leverage Gym Package

Solo lifters and training partners who want the deepest leverage station list here, with commercial bearings and a lifetime warranty.

Best Multi Station

Households or partners training together, and lifters who want separate press and squat stations without reconfiguring.

Body-Solid GLGS100P4 Corner Leverage Gym Package
Best Compact Corner Gym

Body-Solid GLGS100P4 Corner Leverage Gym Package

Corners and square rooms where a full levergym rectangle does not fit, for one or two lifters who want the bench included.

The short answer

Most buyers with the room should get the Body-Solid SBL460P4 package: the deepest station list and the heaviest ratings in this guide, with a lifetime warranty behind it. Choose the Multi System WB-MS only if two people train at the same time on fully separate stations. On a budget, the GMWD system covers the movements at entry quality, while rack torn buyers should examine the MAJOR FITNESS hybrid before committing either way.

Body-Solid SBL460P4 Freeweight Leverage Gym PackageBody-Solid

Best Overall

Body-Solid SBL460P4 Freeweight Leverage Gym Package

Body-Solid's flagship leverage package: press and lat stations, a squat attachment, and an FID bench with leg developer on one heavy frame.

Press and squat stations 600 lb, lat station 800 lb, leg developer and curl 400 lb (manufacturer)
Load capacity
107 x 104 x 83 in assembled per the listing detail block; about 149 in long fully rigged with bench and squat attachment extended
Footprint
Lever press, lat pulldown with pull up lockout, leverage squat attachment, leg developer, preacher curl, mid pulley
Stations
The most complete leverage package here: 600 to 800 lb station ratings on commercial bearings, a 1,000 lb rated bench in the box, and a lifetime warranty. It asks for a room and flagship money, and returns the fewest compromises.

Strengths

  • Station ratings of 600 lb on press and squat, 800 lb on the lat station, and 400 lb on leg and curl work are the heaviest in this guide
  • Pillow block bearings and oversized bronze bushings keep the arms smooth under multi plate loads
  • The included FID46 bench is rated to 1,000 lb and works on its own away from the frame
  • Lifetime in home warranty on frame and parts behind the whole package

Limitations

  • Fully rigged footprint is the largest here, and the assembled package weighs about 705 lb
  • Assembly is a multi box build owners measure in evenings, not hours
  • Plates are not included, and stations this size consume a home plate set quickly

What owners report

Commonly praised
  • Feels like light commercial equipment rather than home gear
  • Arms stay smooth and quiet under heavy loads year after year
  • Station variety ends the extra machine debate
Common complaints
  • Assembly time is the recurring first week complaint
  • Needs more room than listing photos suggest
  • Total spend climbs once plates and extras are counted

Best for: Solo lifters and training partners who want the deepest leverage station list here, with commercial bearings and a lifetime warranty.
Skip if: Your space is a corner rather than a dedicated room; fully rigged, this package wants a room of its own (the GLGS100P4 in this guide is the corner answer).

P
Powertec

Best Multi Station

Powertec Workbench Multi System WB-MS

Three stations in one frame: levergym, squat station, and a dedicated bench press station sharing plates.

Station ratings up to 500 lb on main lever stations (manufacturer)
Load capacity
About 120 x 73 in full configuration
Footprint
Levergym station, squat station, bench press station, lat and row functions
Stations
Separate press, squat, and levergym stations for households and supersets. Nothing else here trains two people at once this well.

Strengths

  • Separate stations let two people train at once or one person superset without moving plates
  • Each station is a full design rather than an attachment compromise
  • Shared Olympic loading uses the plates a home gym already owns

Limitations

  • The largest footprint in this guide by a wide margin
  • Highest total cost here once attachments are added

What owners report

Commonly praised
  • Feels like a small commercial circuit at home
  • Partner training without station conflicts
  • Every station feels purpose built
Common complaints
  • Needs a dedicated room, not a corner
  • Assembly is the biggest project in home gym equipment
  • Overkill is the word solo owners use most

Body-Solid GLGS100P4 Corner Leverage Gym PackageBody-Solid

Best Compact Corner Gym

Body-Solid GLGS100P4 Corner Leverage Gym Package

Body-Solid leverage training folded into a corner: swing press arm, lat station, and low pulley wrapped around an included FID bench.

600 lb press arm and carriage rating (manufacturer)
Load capacity
69 x 67 x 82 in gym frame; about 95 in deep with the bench in its working position
Footprint
Swing press arm, lat pulldown, low pulley, pull up conversion, squat and deadlift patterns
Stations
A true corner frame: press arm, lat station, and low pulley wrapped around an included FID bench, in floor space square rooms waste anyway.

Strengths

  • Corner geometry uses floor space square rooms waste, 69 x 67 in before the bench slides out
  • The included GFID100 is a genuine flat incline decline bench, usable on its own away from the frame
  • Press arm raises to its top position and doubles as a pull up and chin up station
  • Body-Solid lifetime in home warranty behind the whole package

Limitations

  • 600 lb ceiling sits below the flagship levergyms in this guide
  • The press carriage starts at about 30 lb before any plates are loaded
  • Assembly is a multi box freight build that takes most of a day

What owners report

Commonly praised
  • Genuinely fits a corner instead of just claiming to
  • Bench quality surprises owners who expected a throw in
  • The knee lock down makes lat pulldowns feel properly anchored
Common complaints
  • Assembly time is the recurring first week complaint
  • Starting carriage weight is heavy for smaller beginners pressing
  • The red anodised finish divides opinion

How we chose

01 · Lever feel through the whole rep

We judged how resistance builds from the start position to lockout on the press and squat patterns, favouring arms that start fairly and finish honestly. Pivots that stayed smooth and quiet under load separated the premium frames from the bundles.

02 · Useful stations, not station counts

Every system lists stations. We credited only the ones a lifter would program weekly: press, squat pattern, lat, low row, and a bench that works away from the frame. Decorative attachments added no score, however photogenic.

03 · Solo failure safety

The core promise of leverage training is training hard alone. Starting position adjustment, rerack distance, and safety stops were weighted heavily, because a lever gym that cannot be failed on safely is just a complicated bench.

04 · Footprint per movement

A frame earns space by replacing other frames. We divided size by genuinely covered movements, which lifts compact full systems and penalises large single station frames unless their one movement is exceptional.

FAQ

Questions, answered straight

Is a leverage gym better than a power rack?

For solo training to failure, joint friendly guided paths, and fast station changes, leverage has real advantages. For barbell skill, competition lifts, and maximum exercise freedom, the rack wins. Many mature home gyms eventually run both, starting with whichever matches the next two years of training.

How does lever weight compare with barbell weight?

It does not convert cleanly. Lever arms change effective load through the arc and the machine's own arm weight counts differently by design. Log the plates you load on the machine, progress within those numbers, and never carry a lever total into a barbell program as if they matched.

What plates do leverage gyms need?

Olympic plates on nearly every serious system here, and enough of them: press, squat, and lat stations can consume a full home plate set quickly when superset. Count your plates as part of the system budget.

Can leverage gyms train legs completely?

Mostly. Leverage squats, calf work, and leg lift attachments cover the big patterns, and deadlift variations are the usual gap. Lifters who hinge heavy should plan a bar or trap bar solution beside the frame.

How much room does a leverage gym really need?

The frame footprint plus plate loading clearance on the post sides and a walkway in front of the bench. Budget roughly a two metre square for a full system, more for the Multi System, and measure with the bench in its longest position.
